As you know, we are new to the school thing. I had to look into backpacks, and even sent two back. I scoped pinterest for things to pack for Luca's snack. Then I read the list of requirements for everything we had to send, and I was a bit overwhelmed at the idea of needing to label every single thing that goes with her. Her backpack, clothing, diapers, wipes, snack, water. I figure I would post a rundown of what we ended up with in case others are getting ready for this transition.
First up, the backpack. We chose this one: Wildkin Sidekick in Big Dots Hot Pink. It needed to be big enough to fit her school folder in (that is provided by the school). I had originally bought the snack and pack in the same brand and color, but the folder just would not fit. This backpack is cute, fits everything she needs, and is super durable. Also, the brand offers some awesome prints and patterns and various sizes.
Then, the labels. I bought labels from Name Bubbles. They are dishwasher safe, microwave, and laundry safe. You can design the colors you want and pick and choose various options. It has made it so much easier packing her things each day and knowing she won't be losing anything at school. And the designs are so cute!
And snacks. We pack something different each day. Apple sauce pouches. Cut up fruit. Carrots with hummus. Cereal fruit bars. Grape tomatoes. So far, the cereal fruit bars seem to be the thing she consistently eats every time. But she always nibbles at whatever we send. So far, we have not ventured past finger foods for sending to school. Less mess to clean up for her teachers and easier for her to eat it more quickly than her normal leisurely eating pace. (Seriously, she is the slowest eater ever.
What would you add to the list of things you need for packing up your toddler's backpack?
Now that looks really amazing. These are really good foods especially the cereal fruit bars! So good! Excellent job guys!
