- I am a bit obsessed with our new Keurig coffee machine. I get excited every time I make a cup.
- I am loving the weather right now...except for allergies.
- Luca is looking more and more like a little lady to me instead of a baby.
- Luca has totally figured out that when she gets angry, she gets picked up. She has turned it into a game and as soon as I pick her up, she looks at someone nearby and smirks.
- There are not enough words in the English language to describe how sick I am of Luca being in the hospital. But I pretty much have been using the f-bomb in various forms to describe how irritated, sad, and angry I am.
- I have a lot of built up anger because of our situation.
- I wish we could have more days like Mother's day - that picnic was awesome.
- I am really working on practicing patience but find that the more I try, the more I get frustrated.
- I want to go get fitted for new bras but want a buddy to go with me for the excursion. I even found a specialty boutique store that does it.
- I have not had a haircut in 10 months - but am planning on getting one in the next week and cannot wait.
- Despite major efforts to increase my milk supply, my supply keeps getting smaller and smaller. But I refuse to just throw in the towel because Luca is 9 months old, and while she has had tons of infections related to her bile ducts, she has yet to have a regular cold or virus. I don't think it is by chance that we have had that good luck. I will keep pumping until my boobs give me nothing.

I swear even at 3 months Sophie knows how to make us come to her - I was just putting her down for a nap, she starts crying, I go in to see what's wrong, and she immediately smiles. Tricky babies!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, have you thought about seeing a therapist, not because you "need help", but just as a third party who you can vent to and get help sort of working through your feelings? Therapy has done me sooo much good in the past, I am a true believer in the power of just talking and having someone listen.
Finally - the fact that you have been pumping for 9 months is AMAZING. You honestly should feel so proud about that. You are doing Luca a world of good and the fact that you aren't giving up yet is just another testament to what an awesome mom you are!
I sooo want a Keurig, but I haven't been able to convince my husband.
ReplyDeleteLuca is such a stunning gal.
I'm sorry you're having to spend so much time in the hospital.
And you are a pumping ROCK STAR!
I'm Mackenzie Lemn's grandma. Read your post about pumping and I'm an expert on that. Did it for over a year for my two oldest daughters. One was Sarah. Anyway, my milk started to dry up with my oldest and someone from the la leche league told me to take Brewers Yeast and drink lots of water. Makes your milk turn yellow, but it worked! Probably good for Luca too. My milk production went back up to normal. Good luck.
