We heard about a nature center and park about a two-minute drive from our house.  I had been there as a kid but did not remember anything about it.  Monday afternoon, in the very humid weather, we headed there for a walk.  What we thought would be a long walk for distance ended up being a short but rugged walk that took forever.  We had Tessa on leash, a backpack with food and drinks (and diapers), Luca in her stroller, some bug spray, and the camera.

Luca walked for portions (we take advantage of any opportunity for her to get tired out!), and she ended up in the baby carrier for some of the time.  (I realize she is two years old but she still LOVES the baby carrier and giggles whenever she sees us pull it out to use.)

It was a good workout and thank goodness for our Bob.  We definitely will go back...on a less humid day.

We tried for a quick photo before we started the walk...total fail.  Ian and I look like we are breaking our backs trying to fit into the picture, and Luca and Tessa are clueless to the fact that we are saying LOOK AT THE CAMERA.

Luca is totally out of focus but I love this photo - I think she is mesmerized by her new shoes.

  1. Katie if thats the Nature Center right off Muncaster Mill they have a great childrens center with a cave you can crawl though(our house used to back up to the center and we used to go all the time). It may not still be there but if it is Luca may love it.

  2. I love it! I still used our baby carrier on my back for Mackenzie and Kennedy when we would have long treks to and fron the beach. :) So Luca is in good company. Hope she is feeling better!
