Baby GIRL Pictures

That's right - we are having a little girl!!  To say we're on cloud 9 is an understatement.  I've been beaming and squealing all day long.

She is healthy, ridiculously active, and absolutely adorable.  We got to watch her for about 45 minutes and I loved every minute of it.  Even the technician said that our little gal is especially active.  Hmmm - I love it now, but this may be a problem when she's particularly active on my bladder or ribs later on in the pregnancy.

We started off and immediately confirmed that she was positioned how I thought she was - head pointing towards my right hand side, legs sticking out to the left.  Baby looked right at the ultrasound a few times, then became quite bashful and completely turned positions to be facing the opposite direction (head to the left, feet to the right), and curled over face down in a ball.  She maneuvered many more times and even showed us how limber she is by putting her feet straight up in the air while she was on her back and doing a yoga pose.  At one point, she smiled.  Then we saw her take a drink.  She looked like she yawned at one point. And towards the end, after poking and prodding her for over 45 minutes, she dramatically raised her hands to her head, as if in exasperation for why we were bothering her so much.

About halfway through, Ian could've sworn he saw something between her legs.  This was before we knew she was in fact a she.  But then the technician zeroed in on her bits, and I said immediately that I thought it was a girl.  The tech responded that I was indeed correct.

Ian's response: "I'm going to be seriously outnumbered.  Just me and my girls."  Him, me, baby girl, and Tessa.  That, and he immediately apologized to baby girl on the way home, admitting that she'll likely not have a life because he'll be so protective.  Too cute.

Here are some of the pics we got (the quality of the scanning is not very good unfortunately).

Profile shot of baby's face, and you can see each arm:

Baby's face it looking straight at you:

And my personal favorite, showing her moves:

  1. Eeeeee! She is SO cute! A little girl... how wonderful, you must be just over the moon with excitement :) I didn't vote but from your last post with the old wives tales it really did sound more like a girl than a boy, I feel like I'm carrying completely opposite of you and we've got our little dude in there. Congratulations!

  5. Congrats!
Now you get to have fun thinking about all things girly. I love the last ultrasound picture too. Our little guy was pretty much in the opposite pose burrying his head in my uterine wall:) I never got a chance to vote on the poll, but I would have guessed girl.

  7. Banana - Thank you so much! Isn't it funny how true the wives tale of the way you carry the baby is?!

Kim - You're so cute. We were amazed as well especially when they were identifying each organ!

Spacey - He cannot stop talking about how this is bringing out his super protective side. We have pictures of lady bits confirming that she's a girl and he doesn't want me showing that to anyone haha!

Feisty - Well, since she's so active, I'm thinking we'll be able to start feeling/seeing the baby kicks sooner rather than later. Can't wait to see you soon!

Angie - Isn't it funny to see their little personalities in there?! How cute - he was being shy!

    Carrie - Thank you!!
