22 Weeks

I have oh-so-much to update you on.  But today will be a post about being 22 weeks pregnant.

The pictures taken for week 22 aren't so great because the shirt I was wearing just kind of masked my entire body.  It was comfy and I wasn't changing into something else at 10 p.m. last night, so it'll have to make do.

And even though the following picture is blurry, I think it shows what I'm looking on from the front (and holy cow batman, my boobs are ginormous).

I'm feeling pretty good!  I've been trying to get back into going to the gym more often.  I tried running on the treadmill a couple weeks ago and it was a complete failure.  I felt like I could feel my baby bouncing around and then coming back down onto my bladder - it was not comfortable.  So I just walk on the treadmill for 20-40 minutes, then do some weights and lunges.  And even that workout exhausts me.  I certainly have energy in the 2nd trimester, but I get worn out much more quickly.

The only thing that is really a complaint is the heartburn - but I've just been making sure to always have some in my purse and I'm good to go - easy fix!

Baby girl's movements are continuing to gain strength.  Ian felt her move several times over the weekend and loved it.  I think soon enough the movements won't become quite as strong because as she gets bigger, she won't have as much room to be knocking my belly around.  Nothing painful - still an amazing, and weird feeling every time.  There really isn't an hour that goes by that I don't feel her now.  That part is incredibly reassuring, to know she's alive and moving and apparently quite active in there.

Speaking of getting bigger, she's now reached a pound and is about 11 inches long, about the length of a spaghetti squash.  Her tooth buds are developing underneath her gums, her eyes have formed (although irises have no color yet).

I have 126 days to go.  That hardly seems like very much time!

Up next, a post about our weekend full of making baby product decisions: registering and picking furniture.

  1. Kt you look great. I can't believe you are already 22 weeks!

Thank you so much for your comment on my last post. No matter if you were trying or not, a pregnancy is a wonderful and happy thing and you deserve all the happiness that goes with it! And I know that knowing your mom's experience makes you appreciate it that much more.

  2. If pregnancy can get me your boobs - I'll do it! :-)

You look adorable! Glad you have the energy to work out and that you're keeping up with it. I've heard (and I'm sure you're more an expert than I am!) that exercising throughout your pregnancy helps with the labor.

  3. Ally - Thanks so much :)

Kim - Seriously, my boobs have a life of their own going on down there. I have heard working out helps - I think it's probably more about staying active and less about the working out part, so I've made sure to get up off the couch multiple times per day to do something active!
